Things to do when your plushie arrives

You've ordered your plushie and after weeks of waiting it's finally home! You excitedly tear open to package, and-- it looks a little bit off....?Don't worry! This part will explain common issues and how to fix them.

Why does shipping makes my plushie look weird?

Plushies from PDstore are packaged in a plastic mailing bag, and are wrapped tightly in order to make sure the plushie remains safe during the shipping process.Because of how they are packaged, they will be lying down sideways with other post on top, squashing and deforming it. This tends to affect the head the most, and plushies may become long headed after shipping.

How do I fix a long headed plushie?

The plushie is soft, and the cotton in it is adjustable! When it arrives, please hit/press the head in order to redistribute the cotton inside into a lovely, round shape again. Here is an example of neo's plushie before and after rearranging the cotton:

There is a crease in the cloth and I can't fix it!! Help!

Sometimes the cloth folds over itself and causes a strong crease. After weeks of shipping, it makes it difficult to remove.Air Dry Method:
1 Wet the area with the crease thoroughly.
2 Straighten the crease as much as possible. You can use clothing pegs to clip it down.
3 Allow to thoroughly air dry.
Iron Method:
1 Wet the area with the crease thoroughly.
2 Use a hair iron or clothing iron on the lowest setting and apply heat to the crease gently.
3 Remove and allow to cool when the cloth feels hot, as it can potentially melt the fur on the cloth.
4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 until it is completely dry.
If the crease it particularly stubborn, you may need to repeat this several times to completely remove the crease.

The minky cloth looks messy... it doesn't look like the product photo!!

Yes, they'll all look messy when they arrive! This is how I usually prepare the plushies for taking product photos.1 Here are some creases from a new plushie, fresh out of the bag.
2 Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to brush down the minky cloth.
3 Here is the plushie after I finish brushing with the toothbrush. All the minky cloth is aligned, but there are some lines.
4 Brush it with a softer brush (this is a makeup brush!) to soften the lines.
5 Remember to brush everything! Even his ahoge!!!
6 All done!

Cleaning your plushie at home

Because of the cotton inside it, when plushies get wet it can lumpy and deformed.
That's why dry cleaning plushies is the ideal way to clean them. But this can be expensive and inconvenient.
Here's how I clean my plushies at home.

What do I need?‣ Plush you want to clean
During the manufacturing plushies might be put on the floor, so it's a good idea to clean them when they arrive.
‣ A clean towel‣ Liquid detergent with a neutral pH
The one I'm using is for hand washing clothing, so it's gentle for the hands, too.

➊ Putting detergent on the towel
On a slightly damp towel, put a small amount of detergent.
Gently rub the towel together so there's only a thin layer on the towel.

➋ Wipe the detergent all over
Wipe the detergent all over the plushie. Make sure you do not lather the detergent.
Your aim is to clean the surface without getting the cotton inside wet!
If there is not enough detergent, repeat ➊ and ➋.

➌ Wash the towel thoroughly
Thoroughly wash towel so that there is no detergent left on it.
Wring the towel out and remove as much water as you can.

➍ Wipe the plushie
Using the now clean cloth, gently wipe the detergent off the entire plushie.
Repeat steps ➌ and ➍ until all the detergent is removed.
I usually wipe it down 2-3 times.

➎ Air dry
Your plushie should now be clean and slightly damp on the surface but not very wet! (If it is very wet, remove as much water as possible with a dry towel.)
Place it in a mesh bag, and hang it up to dry. If you do not have a mesh bag, you can hang it up in a dry towel to dry, but remember to flip it over so both sides will dry properly.

➏ Brush (optional)
Sometimes the cloth can get tangled or messy after washing. You can brush it out with a soft-bristle toothbrush or brush.
The details on how to brush is in the arrival section
And that's it!
You can place them back on the display, clean and fresh.
